Praxis places participants with business partners to work 30 hours per week as an employee (as opposed to a traditional intern). Participants then complete 10 hours per week’s worth of coursework designed by professors contracted with Praxis. The academic and non-academic subjects in the curriculum is designed to instill a level of entrepreneurial thinking in the participants, and to challenge them to think broadly about complex questions. The combination of hands-on work experience, technical education in the curriculum, and a liberal arts education is designed to train participants to work practically and to be analytic thinkers
Praxis connects high-quality professionals early in their career who want to learn on the job by creating value for employers. Praxis participants complete a 6-month professional bootcamp prior to being matched with potential companies where they learn everything they need to start strong from day one. Employers pay the apprentice $2,400 per month, provide an opportunity for at least one self-guided project, and maintain monthly communication with Praxis staff.
